The DMP-100 is a portable MP3 player with an integrated voice recorder. Additional features include an integrated voice recorder, expandable SmartMedia memory card support, and the ability to act as portable media for any type of PC data file.

With 32Mb of on-board memory, the DMP-100 can deliver over an hour’s worth of digital-quality music and other recordings utilizing the popular MP3 standard. It’s voice recorder records over 2 hours of digital-quality audio through a built-in microphone. It can also double as portable storage for any type of file. Removable SmartMedia memory cards can be used to double the fixed storage capacity of the DMP-100 to 64MB, or act as more flexible removable storage.

Large buttons on the front of the DMP-100 control all major functions. The buttons can be deactivated with a hold switch to ensure that music is not interrupted accidentally. A 5-band equalizer allows a user to customize the sound to their choice in music, or choose from one of many presets. The DMP-100’s scrolling LCD display provides track information including song title and artist. Additional menu commands allow the user to delete tracks or change player settings without being attached to a PC. Available memory and other information can also be displayed.

D-link’s intuitive MP3 and file management software writes and reads data from the DMP-100’s internal memory or SmartMedia expansion memory cards via a parallel port interface.
