It is ideal for backing up important documents or archiving data. It is targeted at home and business users. The DRW-100U supports write speeds of 1x, 2x, and 4x. It also supports rewrite speeds of 1x, 2x and 4x. It uses the high speed USB interface to transfer data to and from the DRW-100U. To ensure proper write and rewrite functions, the DRW-100U features a 2 MB internal buffer that is utilized for constant data transfer. The DRW-100U supports CD read speeds from 1x up to 6x in CD, CD-R and CD-RW formats. It plays digital audio tracks on CD-DA disks, and also plays Video CD (VCD), Super Video CD (S-VCD) and CD Interactive (CD-I) disks. The DRW-100U complies with the Multimedia PC (MPC) standard level 3 that specifies standards for multimedia compliance in the personal computer market. It ships with Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 software that enables the user to fully utilize the CD-R and CD-RW features of the DRW-100U. It features an easy to use interface and supports all major CD-R and CD-RW functions including Audio CD, MP3 Audio, Bootable CD, CD Image, CD-Copy, VCD, S-VCD and Mixed-Mode CD's. The DRW-100U package includes all necessary items to install the unit and create CD-R and CD-RW CD's. Adaptec's Easy CD Creator software is provided to easily create different types of CD's. The DRW-100U features an Eject button on the front of the unit that allows you to open the CD tray. Write and Read LED's clearly show current operation status. A headphone jack is provided to allow users to listen to Audio CD's without the need of a sound card. Volume control is provided to change the audio output level when playing Audio CD's. The rear panel provides a power connecter to connect to the A/C power adapter. A USB interface is provided to connect to the USB controller on the PC.
